I know this is a weird post title but I really like gnomes. I am thinking of creating an interesting gnome character in one of my future novels.
I am seriously considering buying me one (or a few more) of those garden gnomes and putting it on my desk. They always seem so mysterious. Don’t their expressions make you wonder what they are thinking, while standing in that constant pose?
Don’t look at me like that, it’s not like I answer them when they speak to me or anything. I just ‘’smile and wave.’’

Ha ha ha, Gnomes are norwegian and some of my best friends. You are not crazy at all :)
ReplyDeleteSomeone should write a gnome hero for a romance novel. Gnomes are adorable.
ReplyDeleteNot really sexy though.
I like Gnomes too :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how Gnomes started out as earth elementals and morphed into the garden gnomes we know today after they became "Disneyfied" in the wake of the Snow White cartoon. I'd love to see a book exploring something akin to their original conception.
ReplyDeleteHow funny is this post! I love it. Very original for G day.
ReplyDeleteHa! My neighbors have a gnome in their yard and I just noticed him. Every day now I look out my window and stare at him wondering about his story!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to choose gnomes for today! I loved the Gnome book I had as a kid...I think it came out in the late 70s/early 80s. I don't have a garden gnome, but I have a little one that sits on a shelf.
ReplyDeleteWeird post title? I think it's friggen great. But honestly, I don't know if I want to own any. I like seeing other peoples gnomes.

OMGosh, my husband bought me a Gnome for the first MG I wrote thinking it would bring good luck getting an agent (there is a link Gnomes in my story). Well that never happened. I had it on my desk but I was always suspicious of him because no agents were interested. I thought he was giving me bad luck. He eventually broke and I wasn't sorry to see him go. But it turns out he had nothing to do with my never catching the eye of an agent for that MG. ;) Ha Ha
ReplyDeleteKimberly - Great story. I hope you do catch an agent's eye soon, if you have not already. Thank you so much for following my blog.
