WHAT AM I DOING?

I can be really stupid sometimes. I recently joined this social network for bloggers over at www.purebloggers.com, because I received a ton of invites from anonymous bloggers, which I thought might be some of you guys, and I actually thought that I would join and keep in touch with you guys there.

I have no idea what I am doing there, I have no idea how to use the thing and I don't know anyone there. Unless some of you are on the website, in which case, come and save me, please.

I barely have time to blog, so why I joined this site I have no idea. Are any of you pureblogger users at all? Am I alone in that social media universe?

  1. I have never heard of that blogging social network. I recently joined an indie authors writing network. I'm really trying to make it work, but I'm just not feeling it. It's funny how you can connect with some people easily in one social network and in another one you can't. I haven't been able to figure out what makes one network seem comfortable and another one seem cold and lifeless.

  2. I've never heard of purebloggers before; I hope you get it figured out soon!

  3. Sherri - Thank you. I find that to be very true. Maybe it has to do with the reason why people are communicating at all. Here, with blogging we are sharing our worlds with one another. In other social networks it is quite different.

The Golden Eagle - Thank you, but now I am actually having second thoughts.

  4. I've never heard of it before. Have you connected with somebody in that network? Even ONE person?
This next question is VERY important - do you feel comfortable there?
Okay, that should give you an idea of what you should do next.
    Good luck.

  5. I've never heard of it. You could google it and see if people had bad experiences there. I go with your gut - if it doesn't feel right to you, get out.

  6. Mish - Thank you. It definitely did not feel right, which is why I have since closed my account with them. Thank you for the great advice.

Tonja - Thank you. I think it is weird that none of you guys have heard about it if it is supposed to be popular. I am definitely getting out.

  7. I've been wondering if anyone knew anything about this site, and whether it was some kind of scam. I've gotten multiple invitations and couldn't find out anything about it when searching online, other than what they put out there. I'm glad you posted about it! So it really is a social network site, but not one you've gotten into? It seems like blogging, itself, is sort of a social network, what with commenting on each other's blogs and such.

  8. Shannon - To be quite honest, I never felt really comfortable on that website and I am not sure how real it all truly is.

But I have since cancelled my profile on that site. Maybe I was jut not smart enough for it or something.

Feel free to leave comments. I love comments. But no spam, or hate speech. Your comments will be deleted, and I'd wish you a painful death, and your soul to turn to nothingness.

What is the point?

Today I was plagued with the idea, why? And why?  Everywhere these days there's a silent rule imposed by some invisible person or person...
