HERE IT IS AGAIN (IWSG)

The writing has not been going as I wanted, but I have lots of new ideas. I even have a few thoughts on how I am finally going to write my very first real short story. A real short story in the sense that I am going to stick to the word count of 7500 words or fewer, as my other supposed short stories have always been longer than that.

I know that my blog has not been really happy of late, but just because I am struggling to write or create does not mean that I don’t want you guys to achieve any of it either. I hope that all of you are writing and making your writing dreams come true. If the inspiration hits you, write. No matter if your pasta is burning or if the kids are drawing all over each other. I wish you guys all the best ideas and hope that the writing will just pour out of you. Until next time…

  1. Good luck with the short story. It's great you've got so many ideas, just keep them safe until you're ready to write them down :-)

  2. I think it's natural to have ups and downs during the writing process. The important thing is to keep going and I'm sure things will pick up again.

  3. I also struggled with my first short story, so much that I have not finished it yet and it doesn't look like it will be finished soon. The fact you're determined to do it is encouraging, though. :)

  4. Every story starts with an idea, so I think those are the most important things of all.

I've never had much luck with short story writing. They always careen into novels. Best of luck with it!

  5. Good luck with your short. I know I could never do a short myself. But I will always keep writing. I hope you do, too.

M.J. - Thank you and my stories always turn into novels too, which is why this will be such a challenge for me.

Nancy - Thank you so much! Writing is the thing that keeps me sane, so I will always do it in one form or another, but trying to write a great short story could possibly drive me crazy.

  10. I keep my short stories short - haven't ventured into the arena of writing fiction novels, for no other reason than the inspiration for them simply hasn't struck me yet.

  12. I'm not in any rush to write a novel. When the time comes, I doubt much will be able to stop me, but for now, I'm truly enjoying writing my blogs and adding pages to my websites. Thanks for such a delightful and encouraging response to my comment:)

What is the point?

Today I was plagued with the idea, why? And why?  Everywhere these days there's a silent rule imposed by some invisible person or person...
